Current Love: Here's the Thing with Alec Baldwin

Here's the Thing with Alec Baldwin is a podcast that I started listening to. He interviews famous people, mostly actors. Each episode is around 20 - 30 mins. It's also what's getting me through my runs. Running when not in shape is totally different than running when in shape. I need to log maybe 40 more miles and a few boxing classes before I get to that point.

Anyways, I prefer to imagine that the version of Alec Baldwin from the late 90's is the one behind the raspy soothing voice rather than the old fogey in the Capital One commercials. Seems like a no-brainer, but I'll leave it up to you. The benefits of radio.

In the episode with Lena Dunham, from Girls, Alec talked about her being herself and I really liked what she had to say. "I always had a feeling like, if you just stick around and continue to be yourself the correct people will find you." That's pretty much how I feel about meeting people who I want to have any kind of relationship with.

New Beginnings: I don't know. I [am trying to] love it.

I'm used to gradual transitions and there's nothing gradual about this. I couple months ago, I completely turned my life upside down and moved from Chicago to the San Francisco Bay Area. I'm definitely in my uncomfort zone. It's a new city, new apartment, no friends, no job, blah blah blah.

I feel like I need a plan, but all I can come up with is a list of random things I want to try/do and from that maybe I can build a new life. Maybe I'll do at least one of these things everyday. Sure, why not?

  1. try new restaurants
  2. tennis lessons
  3. get a new driver's license. [take the written test]
  4. go to some Meetups
  5. start running again
  6. start boxing again
  7. trying improv or an acting class
  8. learn Spanish
  9. swim
  10. start a blog
  11. use my camera
  12. learn another programming language
  13. work on a startup
  14. go on brunch runs
  15. travel
  16. go to the beach
  17. eat better
  18. start cooking
  19. go to the library
  20. volunteer
  21. get in shape
  22. make a friend
  23. explore outdoorsy things
  24. maybe start baking again?
  25. put together a resume
  26. look for a job
  27. think about babies? ick.
